Yes. A once-monthly cleaning request is treated and charged as a One-Off Clean rather than at a weekly or fortnightly regular-clean rate.

Can I request extra tasks?

Yes, though extra tasks depend on scope, available time and suitability. Additional or bespoke work may require extra time or a separate quote.

We're based in Cambridge and cover homes across the city and surrounding villages. If you're a short drive away, get in touch — we usually say yes.

Do I need to provide cleaning products and equipment?

Normally, yes. Clients provide the products and equipment required for regular, fortnightly and one-off cleaning. Hiremaid may provide products or equipment where this has been specifically agreed, for an additional agreed charge.

Does 'your cleaner arrives ready' mean Hiremaid brings all supplies?

Accepted Answer

No. It means the cleaner arrives prepared with the agreed service scope and cleaning plan. It doesn't mean Hiremaid automatically supplies your products or equipment.

What equipment should I provide?

Accepted Answer

A safe, fully working vacuum cleaner, a long-handled mop and bucket, suitable microfibre cloths and sponges, and the cleaning products needed for your property.

Do I have to own a Henry vacuum?

Accepted Answer

No. A Henry-type vacuum is preferred, but another safe, fully functioning vacuum suitable for the property is acceptable.

Do I have to use Vileda equipment?

Accepted Answer

No. Vileda SuperMocio-style mop and bucket equipment is a preferred example. Suitable, safe equivalents are acceptable.

What products should I have?

Typical requirements include bathroom cleaner, kitchen cleaner, disinfectant, glass cleaner, floor cleaner, cloths, sponges and any specialist products needed for your surfaces.

What if some products are missing?

We'll assess what's available and decide whether the clean can reasonably and safely proceed. If it proceeds, missing or inadequate products may affect the result.

What if essential products or equipment are missing and the clean cannot proceed?

Under Hiremaid's approved policy for this circumstance, 80% of the booked fee applies. If you believe the rule doesn't apply to your situation, the team can review the details.

What if my equipment is unsafe or not working?

Accepted Answer

A cleaner shouldn't be expected to use unsafe or faulty equipment. Some or all tasks may be unable to proceed, and Hiremaid may need to assess the visit.

Can I pause weekly or fortnightly cleaning?

Yes. Regular cleaning can be paused for up to 3 weeks under the standard policy.

What happens if I pause for more than 3 weeks?

A one-off Deep Clean is required before regular weekly or fortnightly cleaning resumes.

Why is a Deep Clean required after a longer pause?

Accepted Answer

After more than 3 weeks without regular maintenance, a property may need more work than a normal maintenance visit allows. The Deep Clean restores the property before the recurring service resumes.

Can I book a Deep Clean without becoming a regular customer?

Yes, subject to current availability and Hiremaid's service offering.

What's included in a regular clean?

Dusting, vacuuming, mopping, surfaces, bathrooms, kitchen and tidying. Each visit follows a consistent checklist so your home stays reliably fresh.

How much notice do I need to cancel or reschedule?

Please give at least 72 hours' notice before the scheduled appointment.

What happens if I cancel or reschedule inside 72 hours?

Cancellations or rescheduling made with less than 72 hours' notice are normally charged at the full booked service fee. Hiremaid management may review genuine exceptional circumstances at its discretion.

What if there is a genuine emergency?

Hiremaid management may review genuine exceptional circumstances and decide whether to waive or reduce a late-cancellation charge. No one can promise an exception in advance.

Can I cancel on the day?

A same-day cancellation is inside the 72-hour period, so the normal late-cancellation rule applies unless management approves an exception after reviewing a genuine emergency.

Do I need to be home?

Not necessarily. Access arrangements should be agreed in advance if you won't be present.

The cleaner works within the booked time and agreed scope, prioritising the agreed tasks. Property condition and workload can affect what can reasonably be completed.

Contact us as soon as possible with your booking or service date and a clear description of the concern. Photos help where appropriate. The team will review the matter.

Can Hiremaid guarantee every stain will be removed?

No. Some stains, wear, damage, discolouration, mould, limescale or embedded dirt may not be fully removable through normal cleaning.

Can a cleaner refuse unsafe equipment or tasks?
